Le Bousquet d'Orb has retained its industrial vocation, which began with mining and glassmaking, and is today turning towards new manufacturing activities (plastics).
The highly appreciated Chardonnay produced by the wine Cooperative - which won an international gold medal in 1999 - is just one example of the "good life" cultivated here in Le Bousquet d'Orb.
These existing activities will soon be joined by a new industrial and economic project on the site of the former glassworks.
Nestling on the banks of the River Orb, overlooked by the Escandorgue hills and Mount Méguillou, Le Bousquet d'Orb offers ramblers unspoiled countryside and, for keen trout anglers, a river classed in the top angling category.
Cazilhac Castle (12th century), the belltower of St. Martin's Church (12th century) and the historical streets of Le Bousquet are some of the items of interest on a tour through time that culminates at the giant Miner's Lamp (a scale reproduction), erected at the village crossroads in homage to Le Bousquet d'Orb and its miners.
