Situated in the north of the département ("county") of the Hérault, the Monts d'Orb Community of Municipalities comprises seven local communities with some 4, 700 inhabitants in an area covering 11, 000 hectares.
This rocky, mountainous region, with its valleys carved out by the Orb and the Mare, enjoys a Mediterranean climate with maritime influences. This has given rise to a number of microclimates and a multitude of different landscapes and impressions.
The diversity of these vast, natural spaces and the specific influence of the area's mining past have endowed it with a rich heritage and numerous sites of interest, including mediaeval monuments and endless possibilities for visitors in search of sporting or cultural activities.
