" IMPREVUS AU JARDIN " ART, NATURE and PATRIMONIAL

A territory, "Les Monts d'Orb", a place, "Le Domaine de la pièce", welcome since 2000, plastic artists, landscape painters, architects… who realize installations of contemporary art which speak about our relationship to the nature and to the landscape.
The "Domaine de la pièce" is the property of the Monts d'Orb Community of municipalities. It is a domain conceived and built in 1884. Compound of a pleasure garden, a park, orchards, continued by an arboretum of forest of sweet chestnut trees ; the domain is supply by sources, it was in the 20th century considered nationally as the culture of Hydrangeas, still present.
Situated in the centre of the village of Saint-Gervais sur Mare, we reach it by the alleys of the mediaeval district "le Pioch".
By its exceptional situation -natural amphitheatre in front of the chain of the Monts d'Orb-, its area- 9 ha-, its situation - centre of the village- and its history -domain of enjoyment then in economic vocations-, the "Domaine de la pièce" is a constant source of inspiration and an ideal place of creation for the contemporary artists.
"Imprévus au jardin" facilitate a creation in situ as well as a link between the artists of different horizons and between them and the inhabitants.
